Hello Dolly!

"Hello, Dolly, well, hello, Dolly.
It's so nice to have you back where you belong.
You're looking swell, Dolly,
we can tell, Dolly...."

Sorry, I just got caught up in the moment!
This week at Dutch Dare, the challenge is:
For The Kids-It can be anything for a kid.
Have lots of fun with this. As you can see I did!  I LOVED paper dolls as a kid! They were my favoritist!
(That's a word!) LOL! I could play for hours dressing them up. I would cut clothes out of magazines too! So this was a blast from my past and they were soooooo
much fun to make.

I made these paper dolls for an adorable set
of twins in our congregation. They are girlie girls and will have loads of fun with these. I made two dressers to hold the dolls and five fun dresses a piece. One girl loves pink and the other loves purple.

I am still working with my coloring. I was able to do most of it by myself, but since it was so much skin, I was having trouble making it come to life. So with just a swish swish here & a swish swish there, Dorcas did her thing with her prismacolor pencils & these girls came to life! Thank You Girlfriend!
These Paper Dolls were a freebie by Mo Manning from Paper Craft Planet. She is offering her in her store, Just slightly different.
All the dresses are paper pieced

Made the stands myself- Cut out half circles with a
Nestie, attached to doll, put slits on bottom, then insert a strip of paper folded in half (to make a triangle shape)

There are several templates out there for the sidestep dresser. I watched Jackie's video to get the concept
and used Dorcas' measurements because she uses  6x6 which is what I like.

They are velcroed to the dresser and of course they match their dresser because what girl does not want to match their dresser? LOL!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Designer Paper: Misc From stash
Lace: Misc From Stash
Jewels & Pearls: Recollections
Brads On Dresser: Pink- Recollections
Purple- Making Memories
Paper Dolls: Mo Manning
Colored With Prismacolor Pencils & Goo-Gone
The hangers are a borrowed prop from Dorcas
Die Cuts: Spellbinders, circles for the stands and the negative of Spellbinders Labels 8 for the dressers.

Ohmigosh! These are just to die for! They are adorable and the little dresses are perfect and look so cute on them. I have seen these little dressers before but they look even cuter with the paper dolls. Dorcas did a fantastic job on them... isn't she just the most talented lady you've ever known? I'm a big fan of hers and of Mo's too. Thanks for playing with us at Amber's Crafts and Stuff this week and for sharing these wonderful creations.

Wow wow wow, these are awesome! I too love paper dolls...so happy to see someone else using velcro! Incredible. I've got to make my own! What a lovely present, the girls will adore them.

Well aren't you just a clever little blighter making stands and everything for these dolls! They came out GORGEOUS, you know that no kid is ever going to touch them, right? LOL They're too special, you'll wait til the girls are 'old enough to appreciate them' and then decide, "heck, no one will appreciate them like me! And besides, they're 30 now!:-)
The Pink and purple works and looks great, so long as I don't have to touch it~I'm an appreciative observer.:-)

These are beautifully colored, embellished and created, Stacey! You remind me of how I was as a child about 58 years ago, lol.
I think you would enjoy our Progressive Paper Doll challenges at NettieG's Digital Gems. We completed our second one about a month ago. The image is free and the 3-4 stages of creating clothing also begin with free images. You have 2 weeks to complete each stage to allow time for other challenges, etc. If you think you would be interested, send me a note on CDAC.
Hugs,

Hi Stacey,
The Twins are adorable, like all the clothes you've made for them. When I was young (I'm using that "lecturing, the older the wiser" tone) we played with paper dolls. Mo's freebie was so welcome and brought nice memories back.

Again all the details in your work are amazing. :) Hih, thank you for the stand :) Definitely will copy the idea. x x x

I've been quiet, hihih, I HAVE! Because I couldn't remember my blog password and reset it only yesterday.

Beautiful.
