Camping

C4C46
This card qualifies for several challenges. Thank goodness, because
it was quite a challenge. I am on vacation and did not bring a thing
with me. Thought there would be no time, but discovered I have a bit
of down time so why not? So I went to Big Lots and Hobby Lobby
thinking I could get the basics cheap. Yeah I know, I'm dillusional!
After I had to pick my mother's jaw up off the floor in just getting
the bare necessities, I realized I was still lacking
quite a bit. It is like camping but much worse!!!
I felt like I was on one of those cooking shows where you get
3 very odd ingredients and you have to create a masterpiece.
(Not that this is a masterpiece!)
Where is my cricut, punches, score-board, flowers, buttons, good, paper cutter, cutter bug scissors, My friend's cuttlebug?!!!! The list goes on! What century are we in here? This was worse than when I first started. I am having withdrawls!
I am fully aware that a lot of this is crooked, esp. the circles and sentiment,
but I tried with the very puny set of tools I had. I got what I paid for with the paper cutter.
Not very good! Oh well inspite of roughing it, this is what I came up with.

Inside- You are in Our thoughts and Prayers
and: And warm thoughts during this difficult time
This card is for a dear friend battling cancer.

I must point out my crooked handy work!

A Face Only a Mother Could Love

Well this is going to be one of those boring stories. I had the girls party today. Went very well. We had a spa day plus made cards. (You can scroll down to other posts to see the purses and invitations made for the party.) I leave on a trip tomorrow and was pleased that with all of that I managed to squeeze in a card. I thought great at least I can post one card while I am gone, and maybe it will qualify for at least one challenge. In all my craziness, I forgot to take a picture and gave it to my friend. I know! What was I thinking?

Soooo now you have to hear my gross cat puke story! Not for weak stomachs! Nothing will wake you up faster than the sound of something puking under your bed. I quickly woke up hoping I could throw him out in time! NOPE! As I am trying to wake up to contemplate my next move, I hear the door slam. My husband high tailed it out of there and left for the day before I could even complain to him about it. So I thought I should go back to sleep and let it cool down a bit. I know, disgusting, but it is easier to wait a little bit. Oh no that was not going to happen. The cat now had an empty stomach and it needed to be filled NOW!! He sits by my pillow and taps me non stop on my face until I slap him. Then a minute later he starts again this time with his claws out. Does not scratch me, but he is letting me know. So I get out of bed to walk him to his full food dish. I know!

He got hurt a few weeks ago and he is milking it now. He already thought that he was king, but now, holy cow. Just like a man who is hurt. Big baby! Lets not pull at that thread! LOL

Anyway back to the other story. So I am still not thinking right, but I go to tackle the yucky stuff by my bed anyway. The smart thing to do would be to bring the roll of paper towels with you. Not me!! I like to make a hundred trips with the dirty nasty ones first and then get another clean one. I get it cleaned up, sanitize the floor, and I realize there is more under the bed. Now I have already made a gazillion trips to the kitchen, so I clean most of it up with the paper towels in my hand, and realize I have one little spot left! So my lazy brain is quickly searching for something, and low and behold my husbands sock! Would I dare! Absolutely! Besides what are his dirty socks doing on the floor anyway? And he did dessert me in my time of need!! Shhhhh I won't tell if you don't.

If you follow Dorcas Designs, this sort of goes with her embarrassing duck story. In the end she asked is it worth it? Then you see their cute little faces and know you wouldn't want it any other way!

Sorry I had to gross you out with this. Would have rather shared a card. Hopefully soon!
Meanwhile isn't he cute?!!

Yummo!

This is a card I made for a friend who went above and beyond and got me 2 (not 1 But 2) Cricut cartridges. It was so thoughtful of her and her husband. He bought my husband a very cool tool that he had been wanting. So we both received fun toys. The gifts were because my husband was getting relocated for work and we were supposed to be moving. So they were moving gifts. Now the move is on hold, so they are an anniversary slash maybe moving present. At any rate we love them! If you read this blog Deb, Thank you! I have been wanting the Sweet Treats Cartridge for a while now, and she knew that. I don't know why I like crafting with cupcakes and ice cream because I can't eat either, but I do find them fun! I must be living vicariously through crafting! I use my cartridges most for scrapbooking. I use the letters a lot for journaling, and she knew that too! So she bought me Lyrical Letters. It is cool because there are at least 6 fonts out of one cartridge. More bang for your buck! Anyway, all that to tell you why I made the card!

The cupcake on the outside opens- A card within a card!
Inside the cupcake- Thank You!

Inside the card- u r 2 SWEET & thanks

Purse Party!

The invitations

Supplies used for invitations:
Paper: Brown card stock and patterned paper from an old DCWV paper pack
Flowers: Silk flowers from gerber daisies, & paper flowers from Recollections
Jewels: Recollections
Ribbon: From Micheals- Basic- Basic 5/8"
I used the Cricut Cartridge-Forever Young for the decorative paper, but cut out my own template for the card

Nail polish to go in the bigger purses. (2 Posts down)
Sparkling Cider and chocolates for the spa experience
Our spa items and things to go in their purses.
I have a confession to make. I could put a
Ghirardelli dark raspberry square in
each of their larger purses. They are already getting 2 chocolates
in their smaller purses. I went to put the squares in their purses
twice and got very greedy with my chocolate.
I am justifying my action with:
They are already getting chocolate.
Can they appreciate Ghirardelli? Maybe it will make them hyper.
I may be generous yet, but as it stands now,
my greedy side is winning. Poor Kids!

OK, this is the end of all this party stuff. Also the end of purses.... for now!

Purses, Purses and more Purses!

I am sure you are starting to figure out by now that I may have a thing for purses. Not so much in the real world, mine is not much and a bit of a mess, but in the craft world.... LOVE THEM!!
Since I am sort of new to cards, I have been trying to find my thing or style. Everyone seems to have their own style to their cards even though they are different cards or patterns. I don't have one yet, however at the moment purses are my thing!

This is some more of the party stuff with of course, a purse theme.
These little guys hold 2 chocolates perfectly for our spa day!

The one with sunglasses is my personal favorite!

Love the shoes in this one!

All 8 of them.

Supplies used: Cricut Cartridge- Forever Young
using the purse setting cutting at 3 1/2 "
Designer Paper: K&Co. Que Sera Sera
Jewels: Most of them from Recollections

Which Comes First the Chicken or the Egg?

Most people plan to have a party, then come up with the theme and how they want to decorate. Not me!
I have been eyeballing these purses from mel stampz (The Purse Collection by Brenda) for months now, but have not had a reason to make them.
Thought they would be perfect for a kids party. Soooooo I made the purses and started planning my party. They were very simple, but could be made with a lot more detail and technique. Since they are for kids, I did not want to put all my best in them, since they may end up int he trash. (The Horror!!!) I could not resist adding some bling anyway.
These purses will hold a emery board, nail polish, a head band, (for facials) and little toe seperators.
I will post the contents on another post. Cannot fit everything on one post. As you probably figured out, we will be doing a spa day. If the purses were not fun enough!

This is a cute strap with a metal buckle for the clutches.
