A Basket Case

The Challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays is Fancy Folds. The possibilities are endless. Please join us this week.

I got the templates for these very cool baskets from Mel Stampz. Any time I want to make a purse, or a box I head over to Mel's blog as she has hundreds of awesome templates and ideas.
I made these for a gathering I was hosting for a few of our friends from our congregation. It was a young meets older party. It was for our younger friends to benefit from the experience and wisdom of our older friends. The older were the Butterflies or Roses and the younger were the Caterpillars or Rosebuds. The baskets were filled with tea, cookies, and a pretty magnet for the Roses, and nail polish, lip gloss, and pretty smelling lotions and body gels for the Rosebuds. It was a lot of fun. I will share the invitations on another post.  Meanwhile please bear with ALL the pictures, as I made 18 of these puppies! The one suggestion I would have if you have more than one of these to make, use double sided paper. This is one of my favorite paper packs at the moment so I did not use a double sided paper. So 4 end pieces x's 18=72 pieces to trace and cut out. I'm just saying...

These were awesome. I remember walking into your kitchen to help "load up the car" and thinking, "Are you CRAZY??? Just how many hours do you have in a night ??? I mean, I know you don't sleep but STILL this is like a week's work (or more). But before I could get my mouth open you were like "I know I know. Yes, I'm insane." lol
But it was worth it. They came out really awesome and the kids had a blast!!
