My First...

This is my first card using my sewing machine.
A little rough, but I am getting the hang of it!
I am also using my first Digi image.
The image is by Elizabeth O. Dulemba.
I rarely use images
because I don't color well.  So Dorcas gave me
a lesson with Prisma Pencils.  Another first.
I will keep working at that one.

A close up of the stitching and mistakes with my shading!

More stitching.  White is hard to see

Will be used for a baby card

Mini Medallion

This is a tutorial on making a little medallion using the lace
border punch by Martha Stewart. I actually made this a few
months ago,but was inspired to make another on and do this
tutorial based on thebeautiful work
Andrea Ewen does on her blog EwenStyle. She does all kinds
of beautiful things with her Martha Stewart punches,
so I thought I would share my little tiny one.
But if you really want to make great medallions, check out her blog.
I really admire her work.  And she did not pay me to say all these
nice things... Andrea if you read this you can make a check out to Stac....
Just kidding, I really do love your stuff.

First, start out with a strip of 12" paper and the
Martha Stewart lace punch.
The width does not matter because you will be using the punch.

I turned the paper over to see my lines better

Then I used my Martha Stewart score board because it has 1/8" lines
I scored every line to make a thinner flower or medallion.  Martha
Stewart is getting a lot of attention here.  Martha if you are
reading this, you can write the check out to Stacey...

You can use thicker lines, but the fold will be different.
You don't have to score it.
You can just start your fold with a very thin line
and follow it, but I find it a little neater and crisper to score it.

Then you start your accordian fold.  Just like a fan from
elementary school.
Who knew so many of the little kids things we used to do
would be the basis of our art as adults!

Then spread it out in a circle while trying to keep it from
popping out!  Have fun with that one!
When you have it the way you want, take some score tape
or strong adhesive and tape the two ends together.

Then adhere a piece of paper on it to hold it together

Then you can decorate it anyway you want!
Ribbon, buttons, jewels etc.
Have fun.  This one is very simple.

I now have to try one of Andrea's.  The big girl medallion!
This is the little baby version!

WOYWW

First we are going to see what is on my workspace Sunday!
What a mess!  Finally had a little time to play and created a mess!!
Now it is clear who made the mess from last week's post!
That would be me and I used to be so neat.  No really I was.
Notice the bowl which used to have chocolate ice cream in it.
Helps me think better! LOL  Hence the big butt song from last week!

Now as I was crafting, the cat, who always joins me, is laying right
in the middle of my stuff.  Then my husband came in and wanted
to plan out a schedule so we can utilize our time better. Hence the
white board!   Well as he made himself comfortable by putting his
feet on the bed, it disturbed and perturbed the cat.

So they were what was on my workspace Sunday!

Perturbed kitty!

As I posted yesterday it was our anniversary.  My husband was
trying to figure out what to get me. So I mentioned that I would
like our kitchen remodeled! Not going to happen!  Soooooo I
then said, "well if we can't afford that then I will settle for a
sewing machine!" I'm no dummy!  Although I did not think that
would actually happen.  He conspired with Dorcas and the two
plotted and he got the sewing machine!  So he went to Dorcas house
to pick it up and he and her husband wrapped it together.

2 men wrapping a present with pink paper.
Dorcas said it was hilarious!

It takes a secure man to wrap with pink paper!

Now this is what I'm talkin about!  This is today!

Beauty aye?
I am thrilled, but don't really know how to sew. There is no
really, I don't know how to sew.  Dorcas came over today to get me
started and give me a coloring lesson as well.  Is'nt she great?!!

My work space Wed.!  Much better!  I can be neat... sometimes!

Moved out in the living room today.  My space has been taken apart
because we were going to move.  So for now I have to use a folding
table.  Soon I will post my desk and hopefully neat & organized space!

Anniversary Part 2

This is part 2!  Now the mushy love stuff.  I don't mind buying him a card that already has the yucky love stuff in it, but it is different making a card and printing it. Then posting it for the world to see!
I stressed about making this card, but I am happy with it in the end.  Hope he is too. He is very sentimental, so I was hoping this card captures it. Hallmark does a better job with mushy gushy stuff though!
Best of times & together we are perfect

Anniversary Part 1

Today is our anniversary and I'll cry if I want cry if I want to... Ooops wrong song I mean Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary...... HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY Anniversary!  That is what I meant!

OK I don't know why I have a hard time making a card for my husband.  He likes my work, He's seen my work and I can Make a card for anybody else. This year I thought I should make him one since everyone else is getting a piece of his money.  But I got a little crazy and made a bunch.  I bought him a book bag on wheels because he has soooo many books it can break your back to carry his other one.  He is an elder in our Congregation with many duties and he has many things to carry.  Soooo that started the book bag card
Then you had to put a card in it, then I bought him some clothes and a dress shirt, hence the dress shirt card.  The main mushy gushy yucky love stuff card will be in the next post.

Both fit in the bag

Book Bag & Shirt & Tie

Inside-

Just a note- When you attach velcro- Attach from the the bag side
not the flap.  When attached to flap first it puts it too high
