Another Thank You

Another Thank You! Thank You cards are fun I am enjoying these.
Each one is very different because you can tailor it to the taste
of each person.  This is for my friend Doreen who also is a
terrific friend. We were on our way to NY together when
I received the news about my Grandmother and my cat.
She was the best through all of it.  Some people like
to solve your problems (That is soooo me) and others
are very uncomfortable with bad news, but she
was totally there for me.  She let me cry, let me
talk, and really listened.  Then when we got home
we also took a girls day and shopped.
I am sorry to keep going on about my woes.
I am actually much better. Just trying to explain
how each of my friends have helped me.  Do not
want to keep dredging it up, but I am very appreciative
to have such great people in my life.

Inside- After I had the front all done I realized I had
taped everything down wrong. Fortunately It was
the correct side, so I kept it this way.
Used liquid pearls on the flowers inside the card.

This color scheme was used a month ago for the play date cafe
and I could not figure out how to make it work. Then I bought this
paper pack and just HAD to put it with yellow! This is
an unusual combination for me, but I like it!
Wish I had this paper last month! Oh well!
I mentioned in the last post that my friends see things
that remind them of me and just have to get it.
Here is what Doreen bought because she thought of me
when she saw it. Guess where it lands every time
you spin it? Yup, on take a nap!!
That is what people think of me! LOL!
I think she thought of me because it matches by
entrance way perfectly! Yeah that it is it!
NOT! but that is OK I love it!

Well as promised, a upbeat Thank You card
for another very sweet friend.  Have I mentioned that
I have awesome friends? Very supportive in my time
of need.  This is for my friend Holly who also has
been there for me through, tears, blubbering, and crazy!
I think my friends need more than a card for putting up
with me!! 5 of my friends have taken me out to lunch
and shopping to get me up, dressed and out of the
house.  My husband was very grateful for this as well.
(Hence all the thank you's) Holly was one of my friends
that took me out. We had a great day.
I am very broke, and gained some weight that week,
but it was very special to have friends that care so much
and want to spend time with you no matter what
state of mind you are in.
Now my friends will be wanting to take me
to the gym next! LOL!

This image reminded me of her and our girls
day out!

With this post and the next two I will share some funny things
these girls find that remind them of me.  For Holly it has something
to do with chocolate.  She finds funny sayings or a picture or
sometimes just chocolate.   We both LOVE it, maybe too much.
You will be hearing more about my addiction to chocolate!
She got me this wonderful book a while back.
It has all kinds of fun facts and recipes.
It is full of awesome quotes like:

Chocolate is the answer. Who cares what the question is!

Exercise is a dirty word.
Every time I hear it I wash my mouth out with chocolate!

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today.
That way at least you will get one thing done!

So there could be worse things to be known for.
Well... there is... I'll post them in the next two!

Almost forgot the ingredients to my card!

Thank You Friend!

It seems the past few months, I have had a bunch of
get well and sympathy cards. With my own woes
thrown in the mix I feel like Debbie Downer

Even though I have more get well's
and sympathy cards to make, my next few
are going to be for friends that have done
some very kind things for me recently.
Hopefully more upbeat than some of my recent
posts! I have awesome friends and want to thank
all of you for being so great!
This card is for my friend Kelley!  We have
been friends for about 25 years. (That seriously ages me!
Let's say we were ummm 2 then!)  We knew each
other up North and lost touch after she got married.
Then about 11 years ago we saw each other at one
of our religious assemblies and got talking and
realized we lived about 10 minutes from each other!
How cool is that? She lived in CT, moved to Ohio,
I lived in NY, But then we both ended up in NC!
She is one of my scrapbook buddies, and is chomping
at the bit for me to start scrapping again.  She is a
great friend and has been very supportive!

...For always being there, for listening, for all
your love and understanding...

Inside- Thank You For Being Such A Great Friend

The bestest friend ever!

Who is the bestest buddy ever may you ask?
Why my good friend Dorcas! Surprise girlfriend!!
We have been friends like forever and been through a lot
together. We pretty much have a good time no matter what
we are doing, but, we especially love to craft together.
This past month has been a rough month with losing my
grandmother and my furbaby on the same day.  If you guys are
sick of hearing about it, imagine Dorcas who gets to deal with
me on a daily basis! She has been there for me  no matter what!
There has been a lot of tears and plain crazy moments,
but she has not run away yet!
The day I came home, after being in NY for my Grandmother's
memorial, Dorcas came over to spend the day with me since it
was the first time being in the house after my cat died.
It was a rough day, but she made it special.
We went to Michael's, had lunch,
watched a movie, ate chocolate. Good friend stuff!
Before I have her totally barfing over all this mushy stuff I must
get on with it!  I don't mean to leave any of my wonderful friends out.
Everybody has been very good to me.  I appreciate
everybody's care &  concern.  I just had to thank her because
she puts up with a lot and goes out of her way for me!
Although me, making a card for Dorcas, is like feeding
 a gourmet chef a hotdog!
It is the thought that counts though! LOL!
At least this card is all my own! No stealing today!

Thank You for lifting me up when I needed it most!

 Inside

I will bore you with one more personal note!
When I came home from NY, my husband had
these pretty flowers waiting for me. They were a
much larger bouquet then.  My first very selfish thought
was "REALLY, carnations is that all I'm worth is
carnations? I am grieving here, and am I not worth
roses?" Then I thought it through and realized we did
not have the money for roses and it is the thought
that counts.  Well now I am eating those selfish thoughts
because 3 1/2 weeks later and these carnations
are still kicking! They have a few brown spots, and I
have had to cut them down, but roses would have died
long ago!

Card Thief

There is a thief among us... Oh yeah that would me!

I saw this gorgeous card from Andrea Ewen a few weeks back
and thought it was just beautiful so I put it in my favorites file
to glean ideas from it.  Only I have NO mojo right now, so
I pretty much stole used (tomato-tomoto) her whole fabulous
card! I already had all my silver
things out and had my doily left over from
the box on my previous post, so it sort of
went from there! I love this doily with the pearls!
Actually I think the whole thing is gorgeous,
I just can't take the credit!
Thank You Andrea you are the best!
I will try to come up with my own stuff,
but I love her stuff sooooo much, I may have
to steal use something from them! LOL!

The inside is all mine though!
At least I have some imagination!
Not much, but some!

Pandora's Box

I have been seeing these pretty boxes for a few months now
and dying to try one.  My brother's 25th anniversary was several
month's ago and I made a card for them, but did not
have the money to send them anything, so I have
been waiting and waiting... I really did not like the
card I made them, so I decided this would make a better gift
and when I get the money I saved a spot for a gift card.
They are used to me sending their gifts and
card late.  I think they would be surprised if I
ever sent one on time! I had a hard time finding
a template but finally found one for the outside
of the box at Crafting With Class
